regional food brokerage firm was looking for a way to leverage marketing
expenditures during the critical 4th quarter grocery season. Working
with a list of baking and holiday grocery items FSMS created the
Simplifying and Streamlining Holiday Entertaining Magazine 2002,
which was offered to frequent shoppers in three grocery store chains.
The magazine offered consumers the opportunity to sample products
and redeem coupons, and featured articles intended to help them
plan and prepare for holiday entertaining in a way that was manageable,
while still providing a special experience for their guests. The
articles, recipes and tips highlighted brands advertising in the
magazine and supported grocery specialty departments such as floral,
deli, and pharmacy.
FSMS coordinated all elements of the project including
the management of graphic design services, development of the editorial
content and calendar, hiring and overseeing the food stylist, and
coordinating the photo shoot. The client secured the participating
retailers and brands then FSMS incorporated the brands/products into
the editorial content of the magazine. 100,000 copies of the magazine
were distributed during holiday 2002.
