FUZZY SLIPPERS MARKETING STRATEGIES PARTNERSHIP FOUNDED
Home-based business offers comfort to women juggling career
and family
BUCKINGHAM, Pa., October 10, 2001 – "Relax,
you've got fuzzy slippers working for you," is the motto of
a newly formed, local business. Fuzzy Slippers Marketing Strategies
(FSMS) is a partnership that was launched in September 2001 between
Terri O'Connell of Merchantville, New Jersey and Lucy Montgomery
of Buckingham, Pennsylvania. The firm offers public relations, promotions
facilitation, sponsorship coordination and event staging services,
and utilizes a variety of tactics to address marketing objectives
for small to medium size businesses on a local, regional, and national
basis. Industries served by FSMS include fashion, retail, pharmaceutical,
telecommunications, software and media.
Both O'Connell and Montgomery have extensive backgrounds in public
relations and marketing and wanted, as do many working women today,
to create a better balance between their careers and family responsibilities.
Because each partner has a young child, they chose to work from
home offices and focus their work energy on providing creative marketing
solutions rather than on commuting. They also intend to keep their
work environment fun. For example, clients who sign on to work with
Fuzzy Slippers Marketing Strategies receive a welcome package that
includes a pair of fuzzy slippers to mark their partnership with
the company.
The pair met in the mid-1990s while managing the Public Relations
department at Ardmore, Pennsylvania-based David's Bridal where they
developed and implemented a national public relations program to
support the company's expansion across the country.
Companies that work with Fuzzy Slippers Marketing Strategies get
experienced senior account managers without have to pay the fees
associated with larger agencies. With combined experience of more
than 25 years, the principals of FSMS have worked on successful
marketing, public relations, and events programs for such companies
as Jockey International, Botany 500, The American Cancer Society,
Bennigan's Grill and Tavern, GeoSphere Systems, Roche Diagnostics
and the United States Olympic Committee.
Most recently, O'Connell worked as an account manager for Greater
Media Marketing and Infinity Promotion Group, both of which are
based in Philadelphia. She began her career as a Merchandising Editor
at Seventeen Magazine in New York and is a graduate of the Fashion
Institute of Technology. Montgomery began her career at Tiffany
& Company, last worked as Director of Client Services for Deeter
Associates in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Lehigh
University.
Fuzzy Slippers Marketing Strategies current clients include The
Irish Memorial, Pennsylvania Law Watch, Bucks County Airport Authority,
The Wayne Train Station Café & Juice Bar, Curran &
Smith, and XB Coaching Services.
